Who We Are

Chiou Piano Studios focuses on developing the musical talents of students. Sisters Staci and Kristi Chiou, who grew up in West Covina studying piano and received their Bachelors degrees from Azusa Pacific University, serve as studio instructors. They have received numerous awards at piano competitions throughout their childhood and college years and have been teaching piano privately for over 10 years. Their students have received various awards including Branch Honors at the Certificate of Merit Examination and superior placement at the Southwestern Youth Music Festival. Instruction at Chiou Music Studios focuses on developing proper technique on the piano and helping students develop as artists. Through their studies, students also learn discipline, patience and the value of hard work and dedication.

Staci Chiou is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University where she received a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Piano Performance under the tutelage of renowned educator Roza Kostrewska Yoder. Staci is an award-winning pianist who has taken master classes with some of the world’s most famous pianists, such as Dina Joffe, Eteri Andjaparidze, Natalia Troull, Edward Wolanin, and Vitaly Margulis. She currently serves as the Branch Chair for the Certificate of Merit and board member of the Music Teacher’s Association of California, San Gabriel Valley branch. Staci has taught piano privately for the past 12 years, working exclusively with children ages 4-18 of varying levels. Current and former students have successfully excelled in the Certificate of Merit and ABRSM exam. She strives to create a learning environment that encourages high standards of excellence while making the learning process fun and inspiring for the student.

Kristi Chiou is a very patient instructor who is guided by the desire to foster positive reinforcement in children’s lives. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Composing and Arranging at Azusa Pacific University. Since graduating, she has been the piano accompanist for San Dimas High School, University of La Verne, Central School District in Rancho Cucamonga, Mt. Sac Children's Choir and Covina United Methodist Church. Kristi’s teaching style is characterized by developing students’ problem-solving strategies and nurturing a love of music. Her goal as a teacher is to provide a balance of music theory, sight reading, and performing to share their talents with others. Visit her Youtube channel to watch her play!
